Class Saints
‘The Saints were not Superhuman. They were people who loved God in their hearts, and who shared this joy with others.‘
Pope Francis
At St John’s we want to help our children to respond to Pope Francis’ call to holiness. The Saints play an important and influential role in motivating our pupils at St John's. They help us become closer to God and his teachings; they serve as role models and inspire us to lead happy and joyful lives. The Saints teach us that holiness means being who you are; they pray for us from heaven, giving us the strength to be who God created us to be.
On entry to St John’s, each class has a carefully chosen saint and each year the children will learn about a new saint, building strength and knowledge by the end of their primary education. The children learn about the life of their saint and draw inspiration from their actions and devotion to the Holy Trinity. The children will be invited to think about the missions of the saints in relation to Catholic Social Teaching and take ideas about helping others. Each class will celebrate their saint's feast day and share their knowledge with the rest of the school.
