Supporting families beyond the school day
At St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School, our wraparound care provision is designed to support working families while providing children with a safe, nurturing and engaging environment beyond the school day.
Our Breakfast Club and After School Club offer structured, high-quality care that complements the school’s wider curriculum and enrichment offer, helping children to feel settled, supported and happy throughout the day.
Wraparound care at St John’s is available to children from Nursery to Year 6 and is ideal for families who require care before and after the school day.
It supports:

- Families with flexible or extended working hours
- Children who benefit from a calm, consistent routine
We understand the importance of flexible, reliable childcare. Our wraparound care provides peace of mind, knowing children are cared for in a familiar school environment by experienced staff. Families can choose the sessions that best suit their needs.
Wraparound care at St John’s is more than childcare. It forms part of our wider commitment to children’s wellbeing, development and enrichment beyond the classroom.

Breakfast Club
Our Breakfast Club provides a calm and welcoming start to the school day in a safe, supervised environment.
Children are offered a nutritious breakfast to support their learning and wellbeing, along with opportunities to socialise with peers and take part in a range of age-appropriate activities.
Breakfast Club is open to children from Nursery to Year 6.
Breakfast Club runs from 7:30am or 7:45am, depending on the session selected.
School offers two sessions as follows:
- 7:30am to 8:45am, £5.60 per day
- 7:45am to 8:45am, £4.50 per day

After School Club
Our After School Club provides high-quality wraparound care at the end of the school day in a safe, engaging and familiar school setting.
Sessions combine relaxation, play and enrichment activities, giving children time to unwind after learning while continuing to develop socially and creatively.
In addition, pupils have opportunities to take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities that run at lunchtimes and after school.

Our After School Club complements the school’s wider extracurricular and enrichment programme, supporting children to:
- Take part in structured activities
- Socialise with peers
- Develop confidence, teamwork and independence
Children attending extracurricular clubs may attend After School Club on selected days, giving families flexibility around activities and childcare.
Information about how to apply for extracurricular activities will be shared with parents when clubs become available.
After School Club runs Monday to Friday from 3:20pm to 4:20pm
The cost of the wraparound provision is £4.50 per day, per child. Please note that if a child is in Nursery, then an extra fee of £1.70 will be applicable to cover 15 minutes supervision in Nursery before the after school club starts (please see the Nursery Charging Policy).
