School Lunch Information
At St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School, we believe lunchtime is an important part of the school day. We are proud to offer pupils a positive dining experience with access to nutritious, high-quality meals that support their health, wellbeing and learning.
School meals with Dolce
Our school lunches are cooked on site by our award-winning catering partner Dolce. Their primary school menus are carefully planned to be balanced, nutritious and appealing to children.

These experiences help ensure pupils approach lunchtime with enthusiasm and enjoy their meals in a welcoming environment.
Free School Meals
All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal as part of the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme.
From Year 3 onwards, pupils may still be eligible for income-related Free School Meals, depending on family circumstances.
If your child is eligible:
Your child will receive a hot school meal every day at no cost
The school receives additional funding to support pupils’ learning and wellbeing
Eligibility is confidential and straightforward to check

Packed lunches
Pupils may choose to bring a packed lunch if they prefer. All packed lunches should follow healthy eating guidelines, ensuring meals are balanced, nutritious and suitable for school. Please download the useful guidence on packed lunches ⬇️

Paid school meals
From Year 3, if pupils are not eligible for Free School Meals, hot lunches provided by Dolce are available at a small daily cost. Further details on pricing and menus can be found via the Dolce information provided by the school.
