Sport Premium

At St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School, we use our PE and Sport Premium funding to improve the quality of physical education, increase participation in sport and physical activity, and support pupils’ health and wellbeing.

The funding allows us to make sustainable improvements to PE and sport provision so that all pupils develop the skills, confidence and enjoyment needed to lead active, healthy lives.

Commitment to physical education and wellbeing

Sport and physical activity form an important part of life at St John the Baptist. Our Sports Premium funding supports our commitment to:

  • High-quality PE for all pupils

  • A broad and inclusive sports offer

  • Developing healthy habits for life

We continually review our provision to ensure the funding is used effectively and continues to meet the needs of our pupils.

Through our use of Sports Premium funding, pupils benefit from:

  • Increased participation in physical activity and sport

  • Improved physical skills, confidence and resilience

  • Positive attitudes towards teamwork, leadership and healthy competition

  • Enhanced wellbeing and enjoyment of school life

Physical activity plays an important role in supporting pupils’ mental, emotional and physical wellbeing and complements our wider personal development offer.

In line with statutory requirements, we publish detailed information showing how the Sports Premium funding is allocated and the impact it has on pupils.
