Service: Mini Vinnies & Chaplaincy Team
At St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School, we teach pupils the importance of social responsibility, service to others and the true meaning of community. Throughout the year, pupils take part in charitable activities and outreach supporting good causes locally, nationally and globally.
Two dedicated pupil groups lead this work: the Chaplaincy Team and Mini Vinnies.
Chaplaincy Team
The Chaplaincy Team plays a vital role in nurturing and promoting the Catholic life of our school. Working alongside staff, pupils help to strengthen our mission, deepen prayer and support spiritual wellbeing.
The Chaplaincy Team aims to:
- Help the school grow as a community of faith
- Encourage pupils to live out their faith in daily life
- Support prayer, liturgy and the celebration of the Word
The team meets regularly, giving pupils a voice in shaping Catholic life across the school.
Mini Vinnies
Mini Vinnies is part of the St Vincent de Paul Society and is open to pupils in Key Stage 2. It supports children aged 7–11 in living out Catholic Social Teaching by helping those in need.
Through Mini Vinnies, pupils:
- Take part in charity fundraising
- Develop strong links with the parish
- Support the school’s Mission Statement and values
Meetings are pupil-led and encourage reflection on kindness, generosity and service.
